چکیده
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the potential Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) and Fisher–Shannon method analyse NDVI MODIS time series capture estimate inner vegetation anomalies in forest covers. In particular, allows calculate two quantities, Fisher Information Measure (FIM) Shannon entropy power (SEP), which are used characterise complexity a terms organisation/disorder. Pilot sites located both urban (Milano, Torino, Roma) peri-urban areas (Appia Park, Castel Porziano, Volturno) were selected. Among six sites, Roma, Volturno affected by parasite Toumeyella parvicornis. analysed using products available Google Earth Engine. To explore long-term dynamics, multistep processing chain based on (i) normalisation satellite series, (ii) removal seasonality any other periodical cycles SSA, (iii) analysis de-trended data statistical method, (iv) validation through comparison with independent ancillary information. Our findings point out clear discrimination between healthy unhealthy being first Appia) characterised larger FIM (lower SEP) second (Roma, lower (larger SEP). results investigations showed that use SSA methods coupled made it possible effectively identify subtle but physically significant signals veiled annual cycles.

Operational Drought Monitoring in Kenya Using MODIS NDVI Time Series
Reliable drought information is of utmost importance for efficient drought management. This paper presents a fully operational processing chain for mapping drought occurrence, extent and strength based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data at 250 m resolution. Illustrations are provided for the territory of Kenya. The process...
متن کاملPerformance of Smoothing Methods for Reconstructing NDVI Time-Series and Estimating Vegetation Phenology from MODIS Data
Many time-series smoothing methods can be used for reducing noise and extracting plant phenological parameters from remotely-sensed data, but there is still no conclusive evidence in favor of one method over others. Here we use moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) derived normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) to investigate five smoothing methods: Savitzky-Golay fitting...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal Monitoring of Urban Vegetation
Monitoring spatiotemporal changes in urban agglomorations will become increasingly important as the number and proportion of urban residents continue to increase. Intra-urban variations in vegetation abundance influence environmental conditions and energy fluxes by selective reflection and absorbtion of solar radiation, by modulation of evapotranspiration and by sequestration of pollutants. The...
